Experience the most special views of Barcelona from a Mediterranean perspective sailing on a spacious wheelchair accessible catamaran.

The redeveloped seafront from the Moll de la Fusta to the Olympic Port area has become one of Barcelona 's most popular spaces for recreation and leisure. Moreover, with the development of the shoreline around the river Besòs, Barcelona will gain new areas for leisure located on sites taken from the sea. Beaches of Sant Sebastià, La Barceloneta , Nova Icària, Bogatell, Mar Bella and Nova Mar Bella, stretching more than four kilometres overall, receive annually nearly seven million visitors, and have all the facilities and services necessary for these people to enjoy a pleasant and safe day at the beach. All above mentioned beaches are wheelchair accessible by means of ramps/boardwalks and there are floating beach wheelchairs assisted by Red Cross staff in Sant Sebastiá and Nova Icaria . From September 11 th beach wheelchairs will be available on weekends and holidays. Las Golondrinas-Sirenas S.A. is a company that has been sailing for more than 100 years: the company started at the same time of the "Universal exposition" in 1988. "Las Golondrinas" are three wooden boats designed to sail in narrow spaces and they tour the port (they're not wheelchair accessible). Still, you can enjoy a panoramic view of Barcelona from the sea, as you sail along the city's coastline on a catamaran.
"Port and Coast Tours ": Two modern wheelchair accessible catamarans sail across the harbour and along the city's seafront and will take you through the historic port to the Olympic Port. The vessels set sail from the Portal de la Pau (tickets are sold in an office) a wide square where the Colombus Monument is located, at the end of la Rambla. As soon as we leave the port, first thing we see is the lighthouse of the Llobregat, dating from 1800; it has been the natural limit of the port of Barcelona up until the present. Later on, the Llobregat delta is seen in the distance. From the sea you will be able to spot landmarks such as the skyscrapers of the Olympic marina (Hotel Arts tower and the Mapfre Tower , an important business centre) the Sagrada Família, the Cathedral, Tibidabo hill, the Collserola communications tower and the Agbar tower. The Olympic Marina (built for the Olympic Games of Barcelona 1992) has over 40 bars and restaurants and has become a new recreational area together with over four kilometres of beaches like Nova Icària, Bogatell and Mar Bella. At this point the catamaran will turn round 180 degrees to return to the Port of Barcelona . Trip lasts about one hour and 30 minutes.
Catamarans Trimar and Ómnibus are both wheelchair accessible, boarding access is ramped from the quay level, doors are wide enough to allow wheelchairs inside and there's one wheelchair adapted toilet in each ship that has turning space and is equipped with transfer/grab rails . There's a bar as well in both and a kitchen in one of the vessels. Swimmers that give shape to the catamarans allow view of sea bottom.
