VALLADOLID. THEME PARK.

"El Valle de los 6 sentidos", The Valley of the Six Senses, located near the city of Valladolid, is a great theme park featuring accessible facilities, accessible and inclusive playground equipment.

Map. El Valle de los 6 sentidos. Click to zoom imageEnvironment and senses have inspired the design of this new 18.000 square metres park located in the little village of Renedo de Esgueva, at a short drive from Valladolid (take road VA-140).

About 400 children can play at the same time experiencing the 60 different games (most of them being inclusive games) in this park which opened its doors to the public just a couple of weeks ago.

Five senses plus one more.

The park is divided in five areas, each of them related to one of the five senses. Imagination is the sixth sense brought by the visitor.

The spirit of the park is to be used and enjoyed by all children regardless their abilities. Accessible playground components and games help children of all abilities play inclusively, while offering developmental benefits and lots of fun. All paths and walkways in the park are accessible to wheelchair users and baby strolls and adapted toilets are available and located by the main entrance.

One of the equipments specially designed for PMR is the Puente de Cuerdas, (Bridge of Ropes) a 18 metres long bridge that might look like a regular one but is equipped with a system that prevents it from swinging, thus being accessible to wheelchair users.

Visitors with reduced mobility, might they be children or adults, will surely enjoy the Columpio Asociado ("Twin Swings"): two swings are joined together by means of chains along which energy is shifted from one to another when a certain height is reached, so that one of the swings will move effortless.

Former Palace inside the Park. Click to zoom imageEvery area in the park has been named: El Jardín de Piedras, El Palacio de los Sentidos, El Valle de los Valientes, Las Colinas del Laberinto, Merendero del Dique, La Granja, El Bosque Rascanubes, El Corazón del Esgueva, La Plaza Dorremí, Los Castillos and El Teatro de los Ecos.

El Palacio de los Sentidos has been installed in a former palace that has been rebuilt. This is where children will learn by playing through scientific games: how sound travels, how is movement produced .

More than 200 trees and 7500 bushes are being planted in the Park: water games will also teach children the importance of well using this fluid.
