Accessible Tourism reaffirms its presence during the last edition of Fitur: the great leisure, tourism and travel supermarket.
Eighty seven thousand square meters where twelve thousand participating companies coming from one hundred and seventy countries exhibit the most attractive of their tourist offer turn this Fair a sort of "excessive" supermarket, mainly for the disabled traveller: a stuffed showcase of treats that such visitor will hardly have the chance to enjoy.
It can be heartless that in spite of all those ramps, ample accessible corridors and easy accessible stands, the best thing this potential traveller might mostly obtain are brochures and leaflets filled with fabulous impressive photographs and advertising items from many different kinds, because unfortunately among all that attractive supply there's very little to meet these travellers' needs; yet, some hope is brought by participation of organizations and/or companies committed to Accessible Tourism: Viajes 2000, Confortel and Predif , in addition to Polibea Turismo, have attended this geographic Babel, and two guides of accessible sites and venues (one of the Province of Badajoz and another one of Toledo/Ciudad Real) have been launched in the pavilions of these Autonomous Communities.
Diverse state and autonomous administrations as many private initiatives show an interest and a worry to demonstrate that "they're on the move", and aware about the necessity to put in the market "their" accessibility: in other words, to place within reach of the possible user the trays of treats.
The great piñata that keeps inside the supply of accessible attractions and premises has been opened and its contents released: dispersed they roll, mixed with the whole bag of tricks, all goodies and candies. We consider essential, until universal design prevails like a norm, the task of gathering and arranging those attractive coloured pieces so that in sight of the amplest repertoire, everyone is free to choose what one likes most or what looks best suitable in a particular moment.
Our vocation, the vocation of this company that is Polibea Turismo, has always been and still is to organize and to systematize formation and information in the field of Accessible Tourism with the aim to encourage, enhance and empower the full and real normalization for the disabled persons in the leisure and tourism area.
