The "GUIA DE ACCESIBILIDAD I DE LA PROVINCIA DE BADAJOZ", (an Access Guide to the province of Badajoz) has been made by Cocemfe Badajoz and sponsored by the Consejería de Bienestar Social, the Diputación Provincial de Badajoz, FEMPEX and the Patronato de Turismo de Diputación.
On January 28 th this Guide was launched in FITUR, (the international tourism trade fair held every year in Madrid ) at the Pavilion of Extremadura. The "Guide of Accessibility I of the Province of Badajoz " is so far in CD format, from which 1,000 units will be distributed. Standards established by the W3C have been used, XHTML 1,0, and CSS 2, following the directives on web accessibility contents 1,0 generated by the WAI, fulfilling the AA level of accessibility. It will be available in the Internet, too.
APAMEX and the other organizations of COCEMFE-BADAJOZ have been working in the matter of accessibility, supported by public institutions, in several fore-fronts in which people with impairments need a total normalization. In this sense it's their aim to offer information to those people with reduced mobility who might visit the province and need to know the accessibility of the different venues and attractions.
Technicians from the organizations of COCEMFE-Badajoz, Aimcoz, Alfaguara and Apamex have elaborated the
"GUIA DE ACCESIBILIDAD I DE LA PROVINCIA DE BADAJOZ", with the sponsorship of the Consejería de Bienestar Social (Social Welfare Autonomous Council) and the Diputación Provincial Badajoz, in addition to the collaboration of the Patronato de Turismo.
This Guide goes through six regions ("comarcas") of the province: Los Baldíos-Tierras de Badajoz, Sierra Suroeste, Zafra-Río Bodión, Vegas Altas, La Liberia y La Serena. Information is provided on the following premises in 120 towns and villages: tourism offices, hospitals and health care centres, pharmacies, museums, theatres, cinemas and leisure centres, lodgings (hotels, inns and hostels), restaurants, as well as parking lots, train and bus stations, taxis, shops and stores, etc.
