The Nature Area of Batuecas-Sierra de Francia enjoys a high environmental quality and has been protected under the name of Nature Park; this mountainous territory, rich in forests and nurtured by hidden valleys covered with forests and furrowed by numerous rivers, is located in lands of the south of Salamanca.

Only about 70km from the city of Salamanca, Miranda del Castañar is among those historical towns and villages in this Nature Park that have known how to conserve the whole picturesquesness and the singularity of their urban layout and the uniqueness of their traditional architecture, which has been declared as historical site in 1973.

The Posada Rural in Miranda del Castañar is a project that has been developed and carried out by a local disabled people organization (Asprodes-Feaps Salamanca) aiming to provide job opportunities to impaired people in the area. Workers have been going through specialized training courses for more than 600 hours.

The Posada Rural will be offering eleven double rooms and one single room. The three storey building is equipped with an accessible lift. There are two adapted double rooms with en suite adapted bathroom (featuring wheel in shower, bars, etc..) and eight accessible double rooms with en suite accessible bathrooms (bath-tube instead of shower, transfer chair, turning space..). There is a terrace, a lounge and a bar-restaurant ( adapted toilets available, too) where you can enjoy local gastronomy, characterized by exquisite stews and roasts.
